STRUCTURAL ENERGETIC THERAPY®, INC.

The Integrative Structural Therapy workshops (intermediate level) are a great introduction to Don’s Structural Energetic Therapy® techniques and deep tissue work.  The material you learn is very effective, and will help you to successfully relieve painful conditions your clients present in the head, neck and shoulder area, low back, and nerve entrapment symptoms of the arm and hand.  These workshops present basic fundamental information, and are geared to the therapists looking for an introduction to effective deep tissue work that includes structural balancing. The structural sub-patterns with the specific cranial releases for each sub-pattern, along with the emotional components to body pain, are not taught in the intermediate workshops.  These are not the Advanced SET Training courses, and therapists who take these courses are not qualified as SET Therapists. 

The Cranial/Structural Soft Tissue Releases workshops do teach the release of the core distortion pattern through the Master Release sequence, but the rest of the Cranial/Structural components involved in full structural balancing and rehabilitation are only taught as part of the Advanced SET Training techniques, as you will see in reading about this training below.

The Advanced SET Training is the Ultimate in Rehabilitative Therapy!  It is geared to the therapist who is interested in mastering advanced deep tissue techniques and skills that are integrated throughout the training with the Cranial/Structural Soft Tissue Releases that make this work so powerful!  You not only learn protocols that Don has developed to release painful conditions of the low back, head, neck and shoulder areas, and nerve entrapment symptoms of the shoulder, arm and hands, as well as addressing painful conditions of the foot and leg, hiatal hernias, TMJ, and so much more, but you will also be able to follow your clients in the process of unwinding through various sub-patterns resulting from the core distortion and its compensations found in the structure and soft tissue restrictions throughout the body and cranium. 

It is referred to as advanced training because the skills and techniques are advanced forms of deep tissue and cranial/structural therapy - you need only to have graduated from a 500 hour massage therapy program and be willing to commit to an incredible two-year journey of growth and expansion of skills. Therapists who are currently enrolled in the 2-year SET Training are referred to as SET Practitioners.  After completing their 2-year course, they are known as SET Therapists.  Following certification, they will earn the title of "Certified Structural Energetic Therapist"

In the SET Training, we teach the very best that Don has to offer – and the culmination of his 28+ years of developing Structural Energetic Therapyâ techniques. (see the BEYOND THE BOX article.) We are teaching what we do here in the clinic that has people traveling from all over the country for relief and newfound hope for recovery!

The first phase – teaches the basic spinal stabilization to balance the core distortion pattern. It also provides the foundation for the next 2 phases. This covers the Head, Neck, and Shoulder routine with his now famous Quick Release Technique, Cranial/Structural I, Pelvic Balancing (taught only in the SET Training), and then the Cranial/Structural II class.

The second phase – (this is material not taught outside the SET Training.) You will learn protocols and cranial releases to effectively move the client into full structural balance by releasing the structural sub-patterns the body tends to move through as it unwinds out of the core distortion. All the protocols for each of the sub-patterns are taught, along with individual cranial releases specific to releasing each of those patterns, and the emotional component that contributes to each sub-pattern is discussed (specific emotions can be manifested in body patterns). This phase also includes one weekend of carpal tunnel / nerve entrapment of the shoulder, arm, and hand (the equivalent can be taught outside the SET Training in two weekend workshops with only minimal cranial releases presented in the second weekend.)

The third phase – (this is material not taught outside the SET Training.) It begins with the incredible emotional energy release weekend – you experience and learn effective methods of facilitating the release of emotional energy that is often stuck in your clients’ bodies contributing to their pain patterns and symptoms. Don is a Mental Health Counselor and brings to this weekend many years of experience – and it is taught in such a way that you can use it in your own practice within the scope of massage therapy. Then you will learn advanced soft tissue techniques for: deep adductor work; deep hamstring / gluteal / abdominal releases including hiatal hernias, acid reflux, and surgical scar tissue releases; advanced lower leg and foot techniques including heel spurs, plantar fascitis, hammer toes, bunions, old and new ankle sprains/strains, and TMJ techniques.

In each session you will learn how to body-read each structural pattern. You will practice the new protocols on each other, and you often have the opportunity to do the entire routine on a model from outside the class during the training. You will also experience an amazing personal growth – this is one of the exciting bonuses of this training!

$600 per weekend every 2 months (or $1200 per 4-day session every 4 months) breaks down to $75 per week, and it is truly a bargain for the information and experience. This is an all-encompassing therapy that treats the whole person very effectively!
