CRITERIA FOR
CARPAL TUNNEL CERTIFICATION

Successfully complete Carpal Tunnel I and II

Treat 10 clients with carpal tunnel / nerve entrapment symptoms (i.e. true carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, trigger finger, tendonitis, weakness in the arm / hand, or any other of the symptoms associated with nerve entrapment)

Document your treatment done on these 10 clients from the initial session through recovery -- client should remain symptom-free for 2 weeks before discontinuing treatment. (This might take anywhere from 3-10 sessions, or more if necessary).

Documentation should include:

intake form showing nerve entrapment of arm
                    your initial evaluation
brief notes from each session (see example below)

                    Example:
                        Initial session
                        Presenting symptoms (list)
                        Evaluation
palpation (i.e.soreness with palpation brachioradialis, top of forearm, extensors,
                        flexors, etc)
range of motion restrictions - shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand
indicate rotation of arm, shoulder, elbow wrist (i.e. internal rotation)
Treatment notes - can be stated as simply as "application of CT protocol"
                        Note improvements after treatment

          Follow-up sessions
                Improvements client noted during week
                Current symptoms
                Note changes you observe
Treatment notes - again "application of CT protocol" is fine
If you concentrate on any specific area, or do partial protocol, indicate reason
                Note improvements after treatment

Note: Your notes do not need to be in great detail or in paragraph form. Simple statements are preferred. If you run into problems with any cases, please feel free to contact us by mailing to or calling either Don 813-949-2933 or Pam 813-909-9626.

Remember, some cases may not resolve quickly - lifestyles, duration of problem prior to treatment, severity of condition, and emotions will all have an effect. Be patient - you will make a significant difference! Enjoy the awesome results you will have! Good luck!
