CRITERIA FOR
CARPAL TUNNEL CERTIFICATION
Successfully complete Carpal Tunnel I and II
Treat 10 clients with carpal tunnel /
nerve entrapment symptoms (i.e. true carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, trigger
finger, tendonitis, weakness in the arm / hand, or any other of the symptoms
associated with nerve entrapment)
Document your treatment done on these 10
clients from the initial session through recovery -- client should remain
symptom-free for 2 weeks before discontinuing treatment. (This might take
anywhere from 3-10 sessions, or more if necessary).
Documentation should include:
intake form showing nerve entrapment of arm
your initial evaluation
brief notes from each session (see example below)
Example:

Presenting symptoms (list)
Evaluation
palpation (i.e.soreness with palpation brachioradialis, top of forearm,
extensors,
flexors,
etc)
range of motion restrictions - shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand
indicate rotation of arm, shoulder, elbow wrist (i.e. internal rotation)
Treatment notes - can be stated as simply as "application of CT
protocol"
Note improvements after treatment
Follow-up
sessions
Improvements client noted during week
Current symptoms
Note changes you observe
Treatment notes - again "application of CT protocol" is fine
If you concentrate on any specific area, or do partial protocol, indicate
reason

Your notes
do not need to be in great detail or in paragraph form. Simple statements

Remember, some cases may not resolve quickly - lifestyles,
duration of problem prior to treatment, severity of condition, and emotions will
